This is the best and most appealing restaurant in Pollença, even attracting a clientele from other districts of Majorca. Ther restaurant is composed of two dinning rooms and an outdoor patio in a century-old house in the heart of town. It has a scattering of antique furniture and a tactful, well-organized staff that produces a limited list of meats (veal, chicken, pork and beef) and a more appealing roster of seafood prepared with skill and finesse. Specialities depend on the availability of fish such as cold, monkfish, dorado, eel, squid and whitefish, either baked in a salt crust or prepared as part of a succulent parrillada (platter) of shellfish that’s among the freshest anywhere. Begin with spicy fish soup and accompany it with fresh vegetables, such as asparagus or spinach. The restaurant’s name derives  from the variety of bright red flowers ( Las clivias ) that are planted profusely beside the patio and that bloom throughout the summer.
